The globe valve is built to handle low temperatures and cryogenic conditions. It is made from robust materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, cast steel, and more. It is equipped with an extended bonnet, wherein the length will depend on the nature of the application and the specifications of the user. The extended bonnet keeps the stem packing at enough distance away from the cryogenic fluid. A cryogenic globe valve is often used in gas/terminal production plants, ethylene plants, and LNG (liquefied natural gas). It is also used to throttle cryogenic fluids with temperatures of at least -196°C.


● The structure is simpler than the gate valve, and the manufacture and maintenance are more convenient.

● The sealing surface is not easy to wear and scratch, good sealing, open and close between the valve disc and the valve body sealing surface without relative sliding, so wear and scratch are not serious, good sealing performance, long service life.

● When opening and closing, the disc stroke is small, so the height of the globe valve is smaller than the gate valve, but the length of the structure is longer than the gate valve.

● Large opening and closing torque, more laborious opening and closing, long opening and closing time.

● The fluid resistance is large, because the medium channel in the valve body is tortuous, the fluid resistance is large and the power consumption is large.
